Sea Trial Inspection Explained

A sea trial is the part of the survey process in which the vessel is operated under real-world conditions. This allows the surveyor to observe how the boat behaves underway, how the engines respond, and whether steering, controls, and systems appear to function as expected.

Sea trials are especially important during a pre-purchase survey, and they often help explain findings that later appear in the report.
